A Place That I Call Home
busbkbar.jpg (1304 bytes)
by Jill Maloy

You replenish my strength,
when I am feeling weak.
You give me much needed guidance,
When it is answers that I seek.

When I feel I am no longer able,
to face the cruel world alone,
Somehow you reach the child inside,
To remind me that I am not grown.

You wrap me in your love,
When I am feeling sad,
You show me the best part of life,
When things are getting bad.

When I feel like running,
you make me stand and face my fears,
and when those fears bring heartache,
It's you standing there to wipe the tears.

When my heart is breaking
You catch the pieces as they fall,
And gently place them back together
As if fixing a china doll.

You're there with a gentle push,
When I feel like giving up,
You're  there to push me on,
When I say I've had enough.

You're more to me than a just a mother,
You're the best friend I've ever had.
And having the two wrapped up together,
Surely makes me glad.

My search is finally over,
For a place to call my own
I have found all that I ever wanted,
In a place that I call home.
